| - On the interior, exposed construction
materials show their own inherent
finish - Exposed concrete floor, carpet tile, and marmoleum sheet flooring - Recycled content in concrete mix using 50% blast furnace slag (BFG) that reduces the need for Portland cement - Interior finishes are of recycled materials or eco friendly products - Structural wood timbers, entrance canopy decking, and skylit roof are made of salvaged and remilled wood - Steel framing and structural steel incorporates recycled content - Rockwool insulation in walls (50% recycled content) - Desulphogypsum (DSG) wall board a by-product of 'flue gas desulphurisation' - Natural daylighting with clerestory windows and skylights - Natural ventilation with openable clerestory windows - Digital control system to monitor lighting and energy consumption - Higher construction costs are planned to be off-set by long-term energy savings and material durability |
