| - This village hall was constructed with
natural materials (brick and wood)
- The scale is human (mainly two-storeys) - The inner courtyard provides for a favourable microclimate in both the winter (sun trap) and summer (vegetated cooling zone with operable windows for cross ventilation) - The complex surrounding the courtyard offers natural daylight to each of the rooms and the interior corridor surrounding the courtyard is a bright protected passage that lets the sun stream in and cast shadows - The courtyard is surrounded by pergolas for vines to cover them in the summer and provide natural shading from the sun |
